Doris H. Cannaday, 76, of Fieldale, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville. She was born in Henry County, July 3, 1926, a daughter to the late James A. Hollandsworth and the late Lettie Spencer Hollandsworth. She was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Cannaday, and brothers, William and Oscar Hollandsworth.
She retired from Henry County Administration and was a member of Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are her husband, Eugene Marvin "Blue" Cannaday of the home; a daughter, Sandra Cannaday Fransioli, of Plymouth, Mo.; two sons, Curtis Cannaday of North Carolina, and Marvin Cannaday of Martinsville; five brothers, Ledford Hollandsworth of Franklin County, Herndon Hollandsworth of Chilhowie, Joseph Hollandsworth of Patrick County, Louis Hollandsworth of Franklin County, and Carl Hollandsworth of Arizona; four sisters, Ruby Adkins of Bassett, Nora Wolfe of Lake, Miss., Virgie Amos and Jean Cassell of Martinsville; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren, with Revs. Sandra Cannaday Fransioli, Jimmy Cannaday, and Pastor Marvin Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
