Lelia Capps "Hester" Spaulding,
95, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at River Valley Nursing Home in Butler.
Hester was born in Paris, Ky., on September 12, 1907, daughter of George and Mable (Payne) Capps.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Spaulding; a son, Lloyd "Bud" Spaulding; and stepson, Robert Spaulding; daughters, Pauline Figgins, Neva Reed and Mabel Spaulding; a step-daughter, Wilma House; and brothers, Joe Durham and McClelland Durham.
Survivors include sons, Dwight Spaulding of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Delbert Spaulding of Bellevue, William Spaulding of Venus, Florida and Jim Spaulding of Dale, Indiana; daughters, Margie DiBlasi of Oswego, New York, and Alleen Mapes of Rome City, Indiana; step-daughter, Vivian Lawson of Michigan; a sister, Irene Reams of Orlando, Ky.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of service. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler.
Interment will be in the Turner Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of one's choice.
