GLEN ROCK - Arlene O. (Abel) Keller, 97, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at her home. She was the wife of the late Harold D. "Diehl" Keller.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2010, at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with her pastor, the Rev. Edward Robbins, officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Keller was born on February 19, 1913, in Glen Rock, and was a daughter of the late Benjamin F. and L. Grace (Rohrbaugh) Abel.
She graduated in 1930 from Glen Rock High School and during her younger years, she assisted her parents with the operations of the former Fountain Hotel, which the Abel family owned in Glen Rock. She also had owned and operated the former O.K. Store in Glen Rock during the late 1940's to the early 1950's.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Glen Rock, and was a charter member of both the Glen Rock Women's Club and the Bon Air Country Club. Her passions during her lifetime were her family, swimming, golf, tennis, and playing bridge.
Arlene is survived by two children, Sandra Keller of Glen Rock and Barry A. Keller of Bonita Springs, Fla.; two grandchildren, B. Joy Keller-Brown of Glen Rock and David B. Keller of Shrewsbury; two step-grandchildren, Julie Shoemaker and Jennifer Mann; five great-grandchildren, Sarah Brown, Andrew Keller, Emily Brown, Benjamin Brown, and Josannah Keller; and two step great-grandchildren, Jacob Shoemaker and Jeffery Shoemaker.
