Harold D. Keller
GLEN ROCK - Harold D. "Diehl" Keller, 93, of Glen Rock RR5, died at 4 p.m. Sunday at York Hospital. He was the husband of Arlene O. (Abel) Keller. The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary March 24.
The service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Glen Rock. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, with Masonic rites by Shrewsbury Lodge 423 Free and Accepted Masons at 8:30 p.m.
Mr. Keller was born March 27, 1905, in Glen Rock. He was the son of the late Eli B. and Zana I. (Diehl) Keller.
He was a partner in the Keller Agency Inc. in Glen Rock, retiring in 1979 after more than 50 years in the insurance business in the Glen Rock area. He was a York County Commissioner from 1948 to 1952, serving as president for two years, and was an alternate delegate for York County Democratic Committee for two presidential elections.
He was a 1923 graduate of Glen Rock High School, where he played on the York County champion basketball team, and a 1925 graduate of Beckley College in Harrisburg. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he was a past member of the church council; Glen Rock Firemens Relief Association; Shrewsbury Lodge 423 Free and Accepted Masons; Harrisburg Consistory Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite; Zembo Temple Shrine; and York County Shrine Club. He was a charter member and past president of Glen Rock Lions Club, a charter member of Bon Air Country Club and treasurer of the former Home Building and Loan Association in Glen Rock.
Mr. Keller also is survived by a son, Barry A. Keller of York; a daughter, Sandra Keller of Glen Rock; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandson.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Hugo W. Schroeder III.
