Spencer Carter is honored by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A202657. DAR records indicate that Spencer died December 30, 1812, in Greenwich Township, Sussex county, New Jersey and that his wife was Sarah Hoff. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of their son, Joseph Carter, who married Elizabeth Calvin
