Alice's ashes were scattered on the land she owned on Caribou Road near Nederland. She was a very good friend of Mary Campbell Hammond who owned land on Caribou Road right next to her. Marcella Hammond Beach, dau of Mary Hammond, placed Alice's name on the cube to the west as a memorial to her. Alice graduated from the University of Colorado in accounting and received her Master's Degree from George Washington University in foreign affairs. Alice was a U.S. Deputy Marshall in Washington D.C., auditor at the Hotel Jerome in Aspen, CO and auditor for Continental Denver Hotel. She had served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946 and remained in Naval Reserve until her retirement in 1971 as Lieutenant Commander. Since 1979, she had wintered in Texas and summered at her home in Nederland. She enjoyed animals and her Scottish heritage. She was active in the international Arbutnott Family Association.
