Henry Knox Burns Jr., 61, president of Burns Brick Co. and a major innovator in the ceramic industry, died yesterday morning in a local hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
After founding Burns Brick Co. in 1936, he traveled extensively to study the latest methods in the manufacture of bricks. His company drew executives in the ceramic field to Macon from many foreign countries as well as the United States.
