She was a native of Crawford County, being born there on February 1, 1876, the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Delilah Crecelius Batman, she was the widow of Sherman Isaac Key, whom she married in Crawford County, on May 19, 1909. Her husband preceded her in death, on August 26, 1936, also preceding her in death is a son, Arthur I. Key, who died on January 28, 1917.
Surviving her are sons Orville Key, of Evansville; Lester and Hazel Wayne Key, both of Milltown; three brothers, Arthur Batman, of Derby, Ia.; Sherman Batman, of Indianapolis, and Walter Batman, of Milltown; four sisters, Mrs. Hattie Walker, of Milltown; Mrs. Jessie Vance, of Roachdale; Mrs. Ida Bobcock, of Derby, Ia., and Effie Poe, of Tulla, La.
Funeral services were held at the Milltown Christian Church, of witch she was a member she was a member, Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Otho Jackson, of Marengo, was in charge.
