Mrs. Laura P. A. Mull, wife of C. G. Mull, of Carlyle, KS died on the 13th at Kansas City, MO. Mrs. Mull was born at Harrodsburg, Kentucky May 31, 1844. With her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Adams, she came to Indiana in 1850 and to Kansas in 1869, where she lived until her death. At the age of about 11 she became converted and made a public confession of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and united with the Presbyterian church of Bethany, Indiana where she then lived. Ever since then she has led a most exemplary Christian life. She was of an unusually happy temperament, cheerful under all circumstances. She was married to C. G. Mull on September 21, 1871 and their lives have flowed on in unbroken cheerfulness ever since. For two or three years past, Mrs. Mull's health has been impaired by a complication of diseases. It was determined finally to take her to Kansas City for consultation and surgical treatment if it was thought best. She endured the surgical operation which it seemed necessary for her to undergo with great courage, but the shock to her already enfeebled system was too great and she expired about 18 hours afterward.
Her remains were brought home and religious services were held in the Presbyterian church of Carlyle of which she was a member conducted by the pastor of the church and attended by an unusually large concourse of friends and neighbors and was then borne to Iola for interment. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord."
