Charles Achor Jr
Charles L Achor Jr., 65, of Madison, died at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 3, 1981 at Belleville Memorial Hospital.
He had been in ill health the last 1½ years and was hospitalized for 10 days.
Mr. Achor was born in Venice and had resided in Madison about 45 years.
Prior to retiring three years ago, he was employed 30 years as a crane operator at Laclede Steel in Madison.
Mr. Achor was a member of Tri-City Park Tabernacle, eagles FOE Lodge 1126, Moose Lodge 272 and the National Rifle Association.
Among the survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mildred (Barr) Achor; two daughters, Mrs. Charlene McKinney of Bellville and Mrs. Fred (Donna) Hacke of Granite City; three brothers, Arthur Achor of Granite City, Clarence Achor of Madison and Walter Achor of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Lamar of Madison and Mrs. Raymond (Elsie) Spiroff of Granite City; and six grandchildren.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday Feb. 6, at Lahey Funeral Home Chapel, 500 Madison, with the Rev. Lonnie Manning officiating.
Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, 2901 Nameoki Road. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday.
