Forman Ayres died at his home at Little Silver last Wednesday in his 73d year. The funeral took place from his late residence on Friday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. Benj. Franklin of Shrewsbury. The pallbearers were Schanck Conover, Richard Borden, John Lippincott and James H. Martin.

Mr. Ayres was born at Little Silver on January 27th, to Bejamin and Jane Rebecca Miller Ayres in 1819, and had spent his whole life at that place. His wife, who died three years ago, was Miss Mary Chasey of Long Branch. Seven children were the result of the union, the four living being Caroline, wife of Ennet Smith; Hannah, wife of Wm. Dowling; and James and Lewis.

The Ayres Family of Little Silver are descended from the noble English family of that name who were conspicuous in the English history during the troubled times of Cromwell. The first Ayres came to America in the seventeenth century to escape religious persecution, and the Ayres of Little Silver have heirlooms of silverware brought to this country over two hundred years ago by their ancestors.
