June Aaron June 4, 1930 - March 18, 2010 Our community has lost a beautiful lady of many talents. She was cherished by her family and friends. June Aaron's love of beauty was apparent to everyone who met her. Her life was her family, her home, elegant gardens and the Bakersfield community where she resided for the past 59 years. On Thursday, March 18, June left us and became the most elegant angel in Heaven. Her departure was peaceful as she was held in the arms of her husband of 52 years, Hal Aaron. The Aarons were not blessed with children, however she was loved as a mother by her niece, Jennifer Cannon, who lived with Hal and June for several years. June's absence also will be felt by nieces, Chris Stoddard, Debbie Lytch and Lorna Gutierrez. June was blessed with extraordinary artistic and design talent. She was a perfectionist with color, furnishings and fabrics that was so evident in the homes she remodeled and decorated for her family. She planned her gardens with the same care for color and style. And she shared her home many times, opening it for charitable events. Her community service included a term as member of the Kern County Grand Jury. She also was a member of the Kern County Republican Central Committee, a volunteer for Guild House and at different times served as social secretary, corresponding secretary and hospitality chairman for Bakersfield Country Club. The Aarons' demonstrated their love for animals and children by supporting the Children's Home Society and the Bakersfield SPCA. One of her proudest moments was when she flew solo in an airplane, after being encouraged to do so by her husband, who piloted his own plane. Graveside services for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 27, at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Rev. Dr. Patrick Sheahan will officiate. Although June loved flowers, her wishes were that she be remembered with a contribution to Hoffmann Hospice. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date to celebrate June's life. www.bakersfield.com/obits
