Richard was born on August 15, 1933 to Clayton and Marcella (Regnier) Baron in St. George, IL.
He married Doris Rutledge on February 18, 1956. Doris died in 2003.
Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a casting supervisor for Gould Battery for 48 years before his retirement in 2003.
He married Catherine Crawford on July 24, 2004 in Bourbonnais, IL.
He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bourbonnais and a lifetime member of Moose Lodge. He enjoyed reading, westerns and movies. He also enjoyed snowbirding to Zephyrhills, FL and camping in Caulfield, MO.
Richard is survived by his wife, Catherine of Bradley, IL; two daughters, Teresa (Earnest) Hargate of Limestone, IL and Barbara (Mark) Kuriger of Coal City, IL; two step-daughters, Cathy Capps of Bradley, IL and Brenda Williams of Bourbonnais, IL; eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, one brother, Jack (Arnie) Baron of MO; one sister, Shirley (Jack) Osborn of Kankakee, IL and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Thomas Mann; his first wife, Doris; one son, Randy; two brothers, Robert and Gary.
Burial at Limestone Township Cemetery.
