Died, at his residence north of this village, on Friday, June 9, of cancer of the stomach, Abram Peck, aged nearly eighty years. Deceased was born in Montgomery, Sept. 26, 1819, and removed to the farm here purchased in 1865. Deceased was a most devoted and consistent member of the M. E. Church at which place his funeral occurred on Monday, June 12, at 2 p.m. Besides his wife he leaves the following children: Martha A., wife of John Decker, of Middletown; Etta, widow of Mr. Brewster, of New Jersey; Jennie, wife of Isaac Miller, of near Burlingham; Frances, wife of Orville Seaman, of Middletown, Eugene, of Middletown, and Miss Clarissa and Henry at home. Rev. Mr. Angevine, the pastor, preached an impressive sermon, taking as his text the last portion of the 10th verse of Numbers XXIII. The remains were laid to rest in Sylvan Cemetery.
