A lifelong resident of St Joseph Mo., she was instrumental in developing and organizing the first Mexican Fiesta in 1942 that began the annual event in St Joseph. It was first held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and she was the events first Fiesta Queen.
She and her husband, Rosendo, owned and operated a Mexican resturant and grocery store for 39 years.
