Susan Elizabeth Rickman married Ben F. Duggan in May 1865 in Unionville, Tennessee. The couple moved to Texas settling in Somervell County in 1878. Eight children were born to this union.

Services for Mrs. Susan Elizabeth Duggan were held in the Methodist Church officiated by Rev. George W. Shearer. Mrs. Duggan died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Conner, Sr. Mrs. Duggan moved to Eastland County in 1892. She moved to Eastland, Texas in 1896. Her husband preceded her in death with several children to be raised. At an early age, Mrs. Duggan joined the Presbyterian Church.

Survived by Mrs. Algie Robinson, N.S. Duggan, Mrs. V.R. Byrd, P.W. Duggan, Mrs. Earl Goaner, with whom Mrs. Duggan has lived for a number of years; grandchildren - Mrs. Swift, Miss Marie Louise Byrd, Mary Jane Byrd, Mrs. G.W. Rhineman, Earl Jr., and Sam Conner; several great-grandchildren.
