Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 27 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lake Benton, with Rev. Donald C. Windsperger, Jr. officiating.
Casket bearers were Lowell and Duane Nelsen, Tom Miller, Dennis Dagel, Larry Olsen and J.T. Weber.
Interment was in Memorial Hill Cemetery, Lake Benton.
Raymond Fink was born to Henry Martin and Nettie Jane (Topping) Fink on December 26, 1917 in Rockwell City, Iowa. In 1919, the family moved to Lake Benton where Raymond received his education. After his graduation from Lake Benton High School in 1936, he remained on the family farm helping his parents.
He married Mildred Amelia Reese on Sept. 3, 1944 in Pipestone. Following their marriage they lived and farmed near Lake Benton until Ray's retirement at the age of 75.
In 1996 they moved to their current residence in Pipestone. On Wednesday, Dec. 20 he was admitted to the Pipestone County Medical Center. On Thursday, Dec. 21 he was transferred to the Avera McKennan Hospital.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Benton and was confirmed in April of 1959. He was a member of the Lake Benton School Board, having served as the clerk. He was also a member of the Lake Shore Zoning Boad.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred Fink, Pipestone; three daughters, Sharon K. (Vincent) Grossbach, Snoqualmie, Wash., Marlys K. Sparr, Brooklyn Park and Jane Benton (Robert) King, Groton, Conn.; four grandchildren; and one sister, Helen F. Bruhn, Pipestone.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Ray Fink and two brothers, Edward and Lloyd.
