From "Two Hundred Years of Rolling Suns", by Bernice Graham Telian, p 238 - "Allen and Chloe (Fox) were members of the Reformed Presbyterian Church near Kortright Centre when it was organized. It burned down in 1849 and the graveyard became a cow pasture. One hundred and eighteen years after their church had burned down (in 1967), descendants of Allen and Chloe came and found cows walking over the gravestones. They had the following stones moved to the Gilchrist Memorial Church graveyard:
"In memory of Allen Fox who departed this life, 17 September 1831, 76 yr
Chloe, wife of Allen Fox, died 22 March 1852, her 91st year
Lucas Fox, 1792 - 1816, son of Allen and Chloe Fox
In 1968 more descendants came and moved these stones to Gilchrist Cemetery:
"John Gaddis 1798-1886" (son-in-law of Allen and Chloe Fox and husband of their daughter, Chloe)
Joseph H Gaddis 1807-1861 (son of Chloe and John Gaddis)
Nancy Gaddis, 1800-1843, wife of Joseph Gaddis
Catherine Gaddis, died 1856"
Joseph H Gaddis was actually a brother to John Gaddis and son of Adam and Catherine McKee Gaddis. and Catherine Gaddis was a daughter of Joseph and Nancy Gaddis. Nancy was a Louden.
