After extensive study of Rebecca's surname, which has often been written in family trees as "Gardner," I have discovered several DNA connections to the Dutch "Gardenier" family, some of whom lived in Dutchess County, New York and other surrounding counties in New York. I believe that Rebecca's surname was actually "Gardenier" or as it is sometimes written, "Gardinier." David Ralya came from a long line of Dutch families and I believe he also married into another Dutch family.
