England when he was servant at age of 18. Born in Huntingdon, near
Glapthorn, Northhamptonshire?.

# 1641 was from Huron CO. Ohio. We have no further information about

Jackson Sweebe (Sweeby) was born in l831 in Huntingtonshire, England.
His parents were Joseph and Ann (Paine) Sweeby. His father died in
Peterbough, June 6,1876 at the age of 72. Found this information in t
Fletton Parish of Huntington, England. film # 065735. His mother Ann
(Paine) Sweeby died Nov 6, 1840.
Jackson's grandparents were Joseph Sweeby, born bet. 1769 -1771 in
England and died bet. 1842-1850 in England. He was married to Mary. S
was born in 1771 in England and died in England. The children of Jose
and Mary Sweeby were Joseph Sweeby and Samuel Sweeby.
Joseph and Ann Sweeby children were Charlotte, Jackson, Joseph, Marie,
Sarah and Samuel.
Jackson Sweebe (Sweeby) was born in 1831 in Huntingtonshire, England. He
married Sarah Jane Andrews in 1855 and the following year sailed on a
ship called Rachel from Liverpool, England. After 35 days they arrived
in NY. In July they started for Albany, NY. There he worked as a farm
hand for a while and then left for Canada, locating 14 miles from
Toronto. In 1865 he went to Monroeville, Ohio and then sent for his
family. He and Sarah had six children, Jackson E., Harriet, Elizabeth (adopted),
William and Joseph. Sarah Sweebe is buried in the Trinity Cemetery,
Lyme Co., Ohio. She died in 1870 at the age of 37 in Monroeville, Ohio.
In October 12, 1871 Jackson Sweebe married Mrs. Mary Blackmer of
Monroeville, Ohio. Nothing further can be found of this marriage.
Marriage certificate no. is 1641 and this was found in the court hou
Norwalk, Ohio.
In the fall of 1873 he went to Wood County, Ohio and in 1880 purchased
8 acres of land for $480. on Van Tassel Rd, which is about 11 miles west
of Bowling Green, Ohio. In 1882, he purchased 11 more acres of land f
his farm. At this time there is no home on the land.
April 13,1876 he made an application to become a citizen of the United
States and in Oct 6,1883 he became a citizen. There were two men who
vouched for him, one was Joseph Butturff and the other William Carpenter
From what I could make out he lived in Weston, Ohio at the time.
Some time in 1893 ,he married Belle (Isabella) Patrick. She had been
married before had children from previous marriage to John Patrick. He
had passed away. Jackson and Belle had lived in Wood Co. Ohio for 29
years.
Jackson Sweebe died March 4, 1915 at his home. He is buried in the
Wingston Cemetery. Death Certificate no. is 19357 State of Ohio.
Belle Sweebe died Nov 11, 1922 , at the home of Mrs Wm. Leady of
Buttonwood. and is buried in the Wingston Cemetery. Also have her death
certificate # 61400, State of Ohio. Wingston Cemetery is on Wingston
Road between Bowling Green and Van Tassel, off of Route 6 in Wood Co.
Ohio. Jackson E. Sweebe and his wife Mary Young Sweebe are there along
with other Sweebes and the Hock families.
