Miriam E. (Ness) Stremmel, of York, died Monday, March 29, 2010. She was the wife of the late Marvin C. Stremmel.

Born on February 22, 1925, in Springfield Township, she was the daughter of the late Charles G. and Helen M. (Ness) Ness.

She had been employed as a seamstress with the former T.R. Taylor Furniture Company and with David's Suits in York. She was a member of the New Fairview Church of the Brethren, York. Miriam was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce E. Holtzapple and husband, Donald of Red Lion, and Susan E. Werner and husband, David of York; a son, Larry D. Stremmel and wife, Nancy of Seven Valleys; six grandchildren, Lisa Miller, Lori Copp, Todd Holtzapple, Tammy Rumburg, Aimee Werner, and Mindy Werner; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Blanche I. Kreiser and Janice M. Force, both of York, and A. Ruthie Bahn of Dallastown; and four brothers, Laverne E. Ness of York, and Mahlon "Pete" Ness, Charles "Butch" Ness, and Richard W. Ness, all of Seven Valleys.

She was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice Innerst, and a brother, Ray Ness.

Interment was in Codorus Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Loganville.
