Memorial for John Marine
From John`s death in 1898 until 2011 his grave and a granddaughter's, Daisy Carter (1907-1908) were marked only with stones. See photo on this memorial of his granddaughter Blanch Ellen Carter Evans (my mom) at gravesite, Rockport Cemetery in Malvern, taken June 7, 2009. Mom died September 4, 2010.Upon arranging for her headstone, there was the large granite base left over that she had purchased for my father in 1977. I thought it would be nice for it to be used as a headstone for John Marine, Daisy Carter and also add grandson Marvin Carter (1905). Upon asking donations from cousins to have inscription added to stone, the generosity was such that it was possible to also purchase a headstone marker for John`s wife, Great grandmother Emma Hardegen Marine who was buried in Hicks cemetery in Benton Arkansas.
Thanks to those donating to these Memorial Monuments.
