Funeral services for Joyce B. Greenwaldt, 92, of Hewitt were held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bertha with Reverend Blake Rickbeil presiding. Joyce passed away on Saturday, March 20 at the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
Joyce was born on August 18, 1917 in Eagle Bend to Andrew and Olivia (Dalby) Brown. She graduated from Eagle Bend High School. She was united in marriage with Harold W. Greenwaldt on April 23, 1938 in Wadena.
A resident of the Hewitt area for 60 years, Joyce was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Bible Study Group. She enjoyed flower gardening, crossword and jig-saw puzzles, and visiting with family and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Harold on May 23, 1991; parents, son Harold and daughter Karen; brothers Roy, Orwin, Otto and Wally Brown; and sister Iona Kommerstad.
She is survived by son Ronald (Jeanne) of Osakis and daughter Kathy (Robert, Jr.) Derby of Wadena; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Troy Shannon, Travis, Bradley and Brady Greenwaldt, Corey Derby and Krista Anderson.
Interment was in the Peace Evangelical Cemetery located in Bertha Township.
