Son of William & Mary Beck Ream. Birth date calculated from stated age at death of 77-10-18. Civil War veteran, who served at the rank of private with Co. C, 87th Pa Inf, August 27, 1861 - Oct 13, 1861. Captured at the battle of Carter's Woods (Stephenson's Depot) June 15, 1863, and sent to Belle Isle Prison in Richmond. Returned to the regiment October 22, 1863.
