Robert C. Wylie, the second of three children born to Robert and Claire G. Lonergan Wylie, born in Warren, RI, but grew up in Malden, Mass. He graduated from Malden High School where he was a member of the swim and diving teams. He later graduated from Northeastern University with an engineering degree. Robert worked several years for Whiting Milk Company. During WWII he worked as a lab tech for General Radio in Cambridge, Mass, and retied as a purchasing from there in 1974. After retiring, he spent many afternoons enjoying the golf course at Oak Hill Country Club in Fitchburg, Mass.
Robert C. Wylie married Edith Elizabeth Wallace on September 10, 1935 at St. Mary's Church in Roxbury, Massachusetts. They had three children:
1. Gretchen Louise Wylie (1936-2016) married William P. Kenny
2. Robert Paul Wylie (1939-2016) married Eldora E. Day; then Jill D. Fitzsimmons.
3. Elizabeth Rachel Wylie (1952-) married Stephen A. Sheldon.
Robert and Edith lived at 51 Alcott St in Acton, MA. Edith died there in 1982. Robert died on President's Day 1990 at his daughter Gretchen's house in Norwood, Mass, and was buried with his wife near their home in Acton.
