Edwina H. Pierce was born November 9, 1935, to Edward and Ruth (Stoddard) Pierce at Sioux Falls. She attended school in Sioux Falls. She attended beauty school and high school at the same time.
On March 5, 1955, she married Aleck Larson in Sioux Falls. She ran her own beauty shop in Woonsocket for 25 years. She also worked for the hospice program and three nursing homes. She was a foster mother for many children. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Woonsocket.
Survivors include her husband of Woonsocket, two daughters, Laurie (Tom) Klich of Woonsocket and Kathie Hibbard of Moose Lake, Minn.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy DeCuir of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Penny McWhorter of Huron; a brother, Robert "Bob" Pierce of St. Louis; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bud, a sister, Carmen "Buzzy," and a nephew.
