Martha Isabelle Jennings, of Dixon, was born on January 25, 1923, near Hayden, in Maries County, a daughter of Glen and Stella Eliza Frances (Eads) Roberson, and departed this life at 9:54 a.m., on Thursday, September 19, 2019, in Maries Manor Care Center, Vienna. She had attained the age of 96 years, 7 months, and 24 days.

Martha was united in marriage on November 18, 1939, at Vienna, to Chester Wesley Jennings, and to this union, three children were born.

She was baptized early in life and was a member of the Kenner Church of God, near Dixon, where she was a willing worker and helper for any church activity for most of her life. During her working life, Martha had owned and operated the Kurly Lox Beauty Shop, had worked at Brown Shoe Company, Dixon, then was employed at Cheseborough Ponds, Jefferson City, for eighteen plus years, prior to her retirement in 1985, and then helping on the family farm. She especially enjoyed couponing, growing flowers, gardening, Hummingbirds, her cats, playing chicken tracks and drinking a cold Dr. Pepper.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Jennings include: Her two daughters, Carolyn Sue Boroughf and husband, Holmes, of Brentwood, and Brenda Elaine Tyler and husband, Charles, of Dixon; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, with greats and great-greats as well; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, on September 5, 1991; her son, Larry Chester Jennings, on May 26, 2012; one granddaughter, Tracy Renee Jennings, February 18, 1974; one grandson, Benjamin Holmes Boroughf, on July 17, 1999; her father, Glen, on October 10, 1940; her mother, Stella, on March 1, 1968; her four brothers, George Thomas Roberson on November 3, 1952, Chester Franklin Roberson on March 10, 1916, Kenneth Monroe Roberson on April 11, 1998, and Lloyd Bluford Roberson in 1996; and her puppy dog, Randy.

Visitation for Mrs. Martha Jennings will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon, on Saturday, September 21, 2019, in the Kenner Church of God, 17996 Maries Road 505, Dixon, Missouri 65459, with her funeral services following at 12 Noon in the Church with Pastor Beverly Sharp officiating under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.

Interment will be next to her husband and family in the Kenner Cemetery, near Dixon, by Birmingham-Martin in Vienna. Pallbearers for Mrs. Jennings will be Terry Tyler, Shawn Jennings, Helen Jennings, Carl Roberson, William Roberson, and Jim Schatzer. Honorary pallbearers are Travis Tyler and Gary Cummings.
