Rhinella D. Schwebach, age 90 of River Falls and formerly of Eau Claire and Arcadia, died Thursday, February 12 at the Ellsworth Care Center. She was born November 25, 1913 the daughter of John and Caroline (Schmitt) Doelle in the town of Glencoe, Buffalo County, Wisconsin. She graduated from Arcadia High School in 1932. She attended Buffalo County Normal, Juneau County College, and earned her Bachelor and Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. On August 16, 1941 Rhinella married Joseph Schwebach at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Arcadia. Her teaching career took her from the rural schools of Buffalo and Vernon Counties to the state graded school in Wonewoc, Juneau County where she transferred to the special education department. From there she taught special education in Independence and Eau Claire. In 1970 she transferred to the Department for the hearing impaired. In 1979 she retired from the Park School in Eau Claire. After retirement she spent much time volunteering for RSVP, in helping the Hmong achieve the English language. She also volunteered with Triniteam. Rhinella and Joseph moved back to River Falls in their retirement. Rhinella is survived by her husband, Joseph Schwebach of River Falls; sons, James Schwebach and wife, Rachael of Plano, Texas, Daniel Schwebach and wife, Beverly of Bay City, Michigan, Paul Schwebach and wife, Ann of River Falls, and Joseph Schwebach also of River Falls; grandchildren, Brenda Bendel and husband, Josh, Stacey Schwebach, Greg Schwebach, Jeff Schwebach and wife, Brooke, Jennifer Schwebach, Danielle Schwebach, and Valerie Hearne and husband, Robert; great-grandchildren, Riley, Grace and Veronica; sister, Margaret Lawhorn of Brazil, Indiana; and many more relatives and friends. Preceding Rhinella in death were her son, Kenneth Schwebach; and brothers and sisters, Pauline Servais, Eleanor Wolfe, Bill Doelle, Joseph Doelle, Armilla Foegen, and Rosella Feuling. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, February 16 at 11 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Arcadia with the Reverend Fr. Robert Polcyn officiating. Music was provided by Wina Sonsalla and DeLaine Patzner. Visitation was Monday from 10-11 at the church. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers were, Brenda Bendel, Stacey Schwebach, Greg Schwebach, Jeff Schwebach, Jennifer Schwebach, Danielle Schwebach, and Valerie Hearne. Memorials may be directed to the University of Wisconsin, River Falls Foundation at 410 South Third Street River Falls, WI 54022. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
