Hattie Johnson Dixon Sims was born on January 27, 1882 in Clarksville, TX, the only child born to the union of Bill Johnson and Eliza Lewis Johnson. Hattie's mother predeceased her when Hattie was at a very young age and she was then raised by her maternal grandparents, Sampson and Patsy Smith Lewis, and her uncle and aunt, Edmond and Mattie Dixon Lewis.

Hattie married Albert Dixon (a cousin to Mattie Dixon Lewis, wife of her uncle, Edmond Lewis) and had two sons, Albert and Aaron Dixon, both born in Clarksville, Texas. Hattie, with her sons, moved to Kansas City, Kansas, where her late mother's sister, Vinna Humphress, lived.

She departed this life on November 5, 1956 at the age of 74 years. She was a resident of Kansas City, KS for many years.

Also predeceasing Hattie was her father, Bill Johnson, and her maternal grandparents.

Survivors include two sons, Aaron and Albert Dixon, and two grandchildren, Andre Dixon and Alberta Dixon, all of Kansas City, KS.

Services entrusted to Mrs. J.W. Jones Mortuary, 440 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS.

Cause of Death: Coronary thrombosis; hypertension; heart disease; myocarditis.
