Carl was born Karl Fredrik Jonasson Vallgren, the son of Jonas Jansson Vallgren and Johanna Nilsdotter.
He had ten siblings: Nils Johan, Anna Maria, Johanna Olivia, Gustaf Adolf, Edvard Daniel, Filippus Emanuel, Paul Tanatael, Enok Alexius, Karl Folke, and Maja Viola.
Carl married Henny Agvilina Isackson on March 29, 1919.

Carl Fredreicks, 80, a resident of Clearbrook passed away at the Clearwater Memorial Hospital in Bagley on May 19, 1967. He had been a patient at the hospital for 18 days prior to his passing.
Mr. Fredreicks was born in Varmland, Sweden, on July 28, 1886 to parents John and Anna Johnson. He came to the United States in 1908 and worked in Steel Mills in the east before coming to Duluth. He married Henney Issacson in Duluth on March 29, 1919 and they moved to Chicago in 1923. He worked in the Steel Mills there as a guy setter until his retirement in 1955. He then moved to Clearbrook and has made his home there since. He became a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Leonard in 1956.
Surviving are his wife Henney of Clearbrook, one sister, Ms. Hannah Johnson of Duluth, and brother Paul Walgreen of Duluth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 23 at our Saviors Lutheran Church in Leonard at 1:30 p.m.
The Rev. Richard Larson of Clearbrook officiated and the burial was made in Sinclair Township Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home.
