He was born March 20, 1915 in Wittenberg, the son of Henry and Anna (Harke) Kersten, Wittenberg.
On June 26, 1948 Allen was united in marriage to Florence Kassube in Bowler. She survives.
Allen was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II in the South Pacific.
In addition to his wife, Florence survivors include his parents, Henry and Anna Kersten; one son, Michael Kersten; one daughter, Marlis Kersten; two brothers, Rolland Kersten and Milan Kersten; and one sister, Ardell (Joe) Lex.
Funeral services were held July 24, 1964 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. The Rev. Carl Musall officiated. Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery, Wittenberg.
