Edward Hicks, one of the pioneers of Mulmur township, died in Orangeville on Tuesday last at a ripe old age. Deceased, with his parents, moved to the Centre Road, near Kilgorie, about 60 years ago. He spent the greater part of his life in Mulmur and Tosorontio townships. He was twice married and is survived by two sons and three daughters. His sons are David Hicks and John H, Hicks of Amaranth. Mrs. Thos. Dinsmore of Mansfield and two unmarried daughters comprise the family. John Hicks of Orangeville is a brother and his only surviving sister in Mrs. Haines of Peterboro. His remains were brought to Shelburne on Wednesday's morning train and were taken to the Honeywood cemetery for interment.
