My Paternal Grandfather

Harry Babcock was the second child, and only son born June 19, 1883 in Nyack, Rockland Co., New York to Frank Babcock and Jane E. Nickerson. Harry was the grandson of John Jacob Babcock and Emeline Wiley Babcock, Henry Nelson Nickerson and Catharine Vanderbilt Nickerson. He was the great-grandson of Nicholas Wiley and Maria Bell Wiley, Zalmon Nickerson and Abigail Richards Nickerson. Harry married Clara Louise Quackenbush in Mountainville, New York at the Quackenbush home on Dec. 25, 1913. Harry and Clara had only one child a son Harry Glenn born Aug. 11, 1922 in Nyack, New York. Harry was a supervisor for the Erie railroad in Cleveland, Ohio until his death. Harry was survived by his wife Clara, son Harry Glenn Babcock and his only sibling, Emeline Babcock.

HARRY BABCOCK
Harry Babcock, a former resident of Nyack, died March 7 at Cleveland, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Clara L., his son, Pvt. Harry Glenn Babcock, U. S. Army Air Forces, and his sister Emeline Babcock, of Nyack.
Funeral services will be held at the Flender Funeral Home, 118 High Avenue, Nyack on Monday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Glen G. Vought officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Masonic services will be held tomorrow night at 8 at the Flender Funeral Home.
