The Funeral of Mrs. Dorothea Bartels was held Thursday at 10 o'clcok from the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.R. Gunter, 86 Alpine Street, to St. John's Lutheran Church, Rev. Salzmann officiating. Prof. Franz Otto rendered "Rock of Ages" and "Jesus, Lover of my Soul" during the services at the church. The services were largely attended and there were many beautiful floral offerings. T.G Efferding, Chas. Rusch, John Alderson, Steve Stile, Ben Schmidt and Henry Voels acted as pallbearers. Interment was made in Lore Cemetery.
NOTE: Interment was moved from Lore Cemetery to Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque by her son, Robert Bartels Oct 21, 1938
