Born in Toronto Township, Ontario, second
son of William Tomlinson (1820-1881),
native of York, Yorkshire, England and
Ann Parks (1821-1898) native of Bishop
Wilton, Yorkshire, England who were married
in York Dec. 24, 1846.

They immigrated from England to Ontario
in 1849 with their eldest son. In 1864
the family moved to a farm in Adelaide
Township, Middlesex County, the farm
located (on the north side of Hwy. #22 -
now Egremont Rd.) near the township
townline with Lobo. Besides farming
William Sr. was a blacksmith. William Sr.
and Ann and other Tomlinson family
members are buried in Poplar Hill
Cemetery in Lobo Township.

In Adelaide Twp. on Oct. 5, 1876 William
Tomlinson Jr. married Margaret Alice Tuckey
(Mar. 16, 1857-Jan. 26, 1892) d/o Charles
Tuckey Jr. and Margaret Gray, both of London
Township, Middlesex County, Ontario.
They had two children in Middlesex County
before moving in 1879 to Tuscola County
MI where they farmed and had six more
children.
