James Davis is the son of Catherine "Cat" Davidson/Davis. Catherine never married James' father. So James never knew who his father was.

Catherine was born a Davidson but some where along the line they changed the name to Davis.

James was married to Lida Smith, daughter of Daniel Smith and Mary Jane Eversole. James and Lida had 10 Children.

Mary Jane Davis Smith was one of their daughters and Mother of Lee Smith. James and Lida are Lee's grandparents and our children Staci and Todd Smith's Great Grandparents.

One of the photo's is James holding our daughter Staci when she was just 3 day old.

James and Mary, came to CA to visit us in 1964 when Staci was just born. Lee was in the Marine Corps and we were stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA at that time.
