James Michael Hartnett

Mr. James Michael Hartnett, 66-year-old retired farmer of Trinity, died at his home in Trinity Wednesday, March 27, following a heart attack.

Funeral services were held from the Church of God in Trinity at 3 p.m. Friday, March 29, with the Reverends J. D. McNeese and Joe Webb officiating. Interment was in the Salem Cemetery near Lovelady, and pallbearers were G. B. Jeffus, Cleo Smith, L. E. Tipton, Monroe Drake, Bobby Skipper, and Bert Smith.

Mr. Hartnett was born on Dec. 20, 1896, in Houston County, and had lived in this County for the greater part of his life. He lived in Trinity for the past 16 years. He was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Tinnie Hartnett of Trinity; three daughters, Mrs. Opal Adams and Mrs. Yvette Freeman, both of Houston and Mrs. Atholine Adams of Lovelady; a son, James of Houston; father, J. H. of Trinity; six sisters, Mrs. Lillie Durdin, Mrs. Beatrice Smith, Mrs. Erma Andrews, Mrs. Myrtle Drake, all of Trinity, Mrs. Willie Parker of Beaumont, and Mrs. Faye McDowell of Youngstown, N.Y.; a brother, Everett of Houston; 11 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Callaway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
