James Henry Hartnett


Mr. James Henry Hartnett, 88, of Trinity, died in the home of a daughter in the city Monday, following an extended illness. Mr. Hartnett was born Nov. 12, 1875, in Charleston, S.C. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Trinity.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Calvary Baptist Church in Trinity, with the Rev. J. T. Evans, the Rev. J. B. Kelley and Mr. John Short officiating. Burial was in the Clapp Cemetery, near Trinity.
Survivors include sis daughters, Mrs. Lillie Durdin, Mrs. Beatrice Smith, Mrs. Myrtle Drake, and Mrs. Erma Andrews, all of Trinity, Mrs. Willie Parks of Beaumont and Mrs. Faye McDowell of Youngstown, N. Y.; a son, Everett Hartnett of Houston; a brother, Lee Hartnett of Marlin; a sister, Mrs. Henry Williamson of Trinity; two foster daughters, Mrs. Fleta Nell Burks of New Caney and Mrs. Mae Shaw of Weldon; 35 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren.
Callaway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
