Wednesday, June 12, 1812
Court Session held for the County of Monroe
Frederick Baker formerly of the Empire of Germany made application to this court to be admitted as Citizen of the United States, and having proven to the satisfaction of the Court that he has resided within the County and under the Jurisdiction of the United States before the 29th day of January 1795 and that ever since he has constantly resided within the commonwealth and having proven to the satisfaction of the courts he has behaved himself as a man of just moral character attached to the principle of the Constitution of the United States and well disposed to the good order & hap? of the same, he having also taken an oath so to support the Constitution of the United states & that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce & abjure all allegiance & fidelity to any foreign prime potentate, state or sovereignty whatsoever, particularly to the sovereign of Germany---and also the oath of fidelity to the commonwealth---- he is thereupon admitted as a Citizen of the United States.

Last Will & Testament of Frederick Baker
November 2, 1829

In the Name of God Amen, the second day of November 1829, I Frederick Baker of Monroe County, being advanced in years but in perfect health & sound mind & memory, thanks be to God for the same ; Calling to mind it is appointed once for all men to die I do make & order this to be my last will & testament. That is to say, I Frederick Baker a touching my Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I dispose of the same in the manner of and form following. First of all I give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Baker the house & plantation where I now live & at her decease it shall fall to my son John Baker, & I also give to my wife our Bed & Clothing & two cows also our horse beast, & I also give to my son Frederick Baker the 68 acres of land where he now lives for which he paid me Sixty dollars because it was that much better than other places I gave my children. I also give to my son Joseph Baker 75 acres of land where he now lives joining John Brown, Also I give to my daughter Sally Piles 75 acres of land where she now lives. I also give to my daughter Betsy Givings two hundred dollars to made of my Estate, at my Decease & if there is any more to be sold & equally divided amongst my children. I constitute this to be my last will and testament and I appoint Robert to be my Executor.
