RIENZI Lizzie Beth (Mears) Felks, 84, died Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville, Prentiss Co., MS after a brief illness.
She was born in Prentiss County, Mississippi to Boyd Fulton Mears and Nona (Strickland) Mears.
She is the sister of Earl J. Mears, Carl E. Mears, Elbert Boyd "Monk" Mears, Clifton W. Mears, Luther C. Mears, Guy Otis Mears, Maudine I. "Maudie" (Mears) Felks, Isabelle (Mears) Green and Leonard E. "Jerry" Mears.
She was a homemaker and a member of Kemp’s Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Felks; brothers Earl J. Mears, Carl E. Mears, Elbert Boyd Mears, Clifton W. Mears, Luther C. Mears, Guy Otis Mears and her sister, Maud (Mears) Felks.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kemp’s Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Stephenson and the Rev. C.D. Edge officiating. Burial will be in Kemp’s Chapel Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Sara Satterfield of Libertyville, IL and Ladenis Lasseter and her husband, Bill, of Rienzi, MS; one son, Clinton E. “Bud” Felks and his wife, Jewel, of Rienzi, MS; one sister, Isabell Green and her husband, Robert, of Baldwyn, MS; one brother, Jerry Mears and his wife, Louvisa, of Baldwyn, MS; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home and the body will also lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.
