Mae Bearpaw the daughter of Willie and Addie (Martin) Guess was born March 19, 1925, in Tahlequah and departed this life on April 11, 2010 in Tahlequah at the age of 85 years and 23 days. Mae was married to Tom Bearpaw Sr. on Sept. 1, 1964 at the Cedar Tree Indian Baptist Church. She enjoyed her role as a wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom Bearpaw Sr.; one daughter, Cherokee Crittenden; two brothers, Dick Guess and James Guess; and one sister, Susie Guess. She is survived by a loving family, which includes two sons, Jonathan Bearpaw and wife Melinda, and Charles Crittenden and wife Rufina, all of Tahlequah; two daughters, Kathy Hart of Tulsa, and Barbara Fritts and husband L.C. of Tahlequah; one brother, Looney Guess of Fayetteville, Ark.; four sisters, Annie Wilson, Rose Miller, Leona Guess and Dorothy Crawford, all of Tahlequah; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews friends and other relatives also survive her. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dale Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Tree Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Viewing will be Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from noon to 8 p.m. Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
