Mrs. Dorothy Bilton Dillman, 74, of Dawson, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at a Waco hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at First Baptist Church of Dawson with the Rev. Bill Klinglesmith and the Rev. Les Mantonya officiating. Interment will follow in Wortham Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Wade Funeral Home in Hubbard.

Dorothy was born in Kerens, Texas, to the late Albert L. and Vera (DeBusk) Bilton, and was one of nine children. Her family moved to Wortham in 1944 and she was a graduate of Wortham High School where she was a cheerleader and active in FHA. After high school, she attended Wayland Baptist University in Plainview and later also took classes at the University of Houston. She married Martin Dillman in Houston in 1962 and they bought a ranch near Dawson in the late 1970s. Dorothy worked in management for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) from 1955 to 1983, working mostly in Houston, but also in Dallas and Waco. She and her husband later moved to Dawson permanently. S`he loved being a rancher and farmer, driving a tractor and gardening, and giving away most of what she produced. Dorothy was very giving of herself and was a caregiver for her mother, her sisters and her husband. She was active in the Dawson Study Club, and was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Dawson where she taught Sunday School and served on many committees.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Martin, in 1988; brother, Vernon Bilton; and sisters, Lou Bilton Bates, Beatrice Bilton Parker and Marge Bilton Yerkes.

Survivors include her son, Michael Anthony Dillman, of Hawaii; grandson, Adam Dillman, of Hawaii; brothers, Henry Bilton and wife, Mary, of Sumter, S.C., Herbert Bilton and wife, Janis, of Deer Park, and Billy Don Bilton and wife, Elna, of Conroe; sister, Nell Shetter, of Deer Park; and numerous nieces and nephews.
