By 1860 he was living in Ulster County, in Kingston, working as a brickmaker. He was living with his sister Sarah and her husband Andrew Lowe, who was in the brickmaking business with Archibald's brothers Nathan and George.
About 1862 he married Margaret M. Felter. In 1870 they were still living in Kingston and he continued to be a brickmaker.
By 1880 he and his family have returned to Rockland County. He is listed with his father working the farm in the 1880 census. His occupation continues to be as a Farmer through the 1910 census.
He and Margaret had six children, with three of them still living in the 1910 census.
His name appears in the 1920 census, as an invalid. He died on 31 Jan 1920, before the census enumerator came to their house, but since the census instructions are to list those living on January 1st of 1920, Archibald is listed with the family.
