On Dec. 31 1945 Marion Chronicle News Paper. Hazel D. Baxter, 53, Dies Sunday. Body of Mrs. Hazel D. Baxter, fifty-three, wife of Andrew Ezra Baxter. Silvis IL, former Sweetser residents, will arrive here at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and will be taken to 710 West Third street. She died Sunday at her home.
Mr. And Mrs. Baxter left Grant county approximately 25 years ago. They formerly resided on the Dr. A. D. Burge farm near Sweetser and Baxter served as janitor at the Sweetser school.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sweetser Methodist church. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery.
In addition to the husband Mrs. Baxter is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Fern Moreland, Mrs. Mary H. Brandon, and Mrs. Delores Bragg, Marion, and Bettie Sue Baxter, at home, and three sons, Marshall and Earl Baxter, Gary, and Dewayne Baxter, serving with the U.S. Navy, and one sister, Mrs. Goldie Thompson, Marion. Her parents, Mr. And Mrs. John W. Buroker, died within the past several months.
