J George McKinnon, eighty-nine-year old resident of Otego, died Monday in Parshall hospital in Oneonta where he had been a patient for the past two weeks
Mr McKinnon was born in Sidney, January 1, 1857, a son of John Gregory and Harriet (Birdsall) McKinnon. He was twice married, his first wife being Allie Jane Prescott whom he wed June 22, 1880. She was killed in an auto accident in 1925. On June 2, 1927, he married Mrs Addie Newland Waite. She passed away in January 1938.
Mr McKinnon was a railroad telegrapher for fifty years. He was a member of Ausable Forks Episcopal church, and a charter member of the Masonic Lodge in that village.
He is survived by a son, Hugh McKinnon of Ausable Forks.
Funeral services will be held at his late home Wednesday at 2 o'clock, with the Rev Norman S McPherson, pastor of the Otego Baptist church officiating. The body will be placed in the Evergreen cemetery vault.
