A Union Army Civil War veteran, Denton Boward mustered in to B. Co., 7th Maryland Infantry on Aug. 18, 1862 at Frederick Maryland. He was a Musician, age 17 & signed for a three year enlistment. He mustered out of that unit on May 31, 1865 at Arlington Heights, Virginia.
He was also a soldier in Co. G, 8th Regiment U.S. Infantry.
