Although his tombstone reads: age 76 yr 1 mo on his death in 1878, Rainbolt family records list his birth as the year 1797. Jessie Rainbolt was the son of Adam Rainbolt and Jane Potter. He married Rachel Hudson in 1822. Jesse was elected Associate Judge of Greene County in 1849. He settled near Hobbieville, Indiana in the early 1800's. The cemetery is about 500 feet from the orginal farm house. It is located in Center Twp. Section 34, Greene Co., Indiana about 1/2 mile north of Hobbieville on the west side of State Road 54. There are some graves marked only with field stones and they seem to be the graves of children.
