Funeral services for James Porter HIll, 91, were in the First Baptist Church in Olney officiated by Dr. C.W. Bess, pastor and Rev. Lloyd Sansom, pastor of the United Methodist Church.
James Hill married Miss Minnie Lewis on 1 February 1905 at Graham Texas. The couple moved from Graham to Archer County in 1917 and then to Olney in 1946.
He came to Texas in 1880 with his parents.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors: five daughters - Mrs. Nick "Alpha" Kutach of Temple, Mrs. Wallace Estill of Archer City, Mrs. A.B. "Mary" Cox of Olney, Mrs. Robert Fancher of Seymour, Mrs. Louis Visentine of Fort Worth, son - J.P. Hill, Jr. of Lufkin, three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
