Clayton was a son of Murra and Newton Cox. He lived in Decatur Co. and graduated from Burney High School in 1947. He was a well known farmer. His obituary follows:

"Clayton Cox, 77, of Greensburg passed away on August 5, 2006 at Miller's Merry Manor in Hope, Indiana.

"He was born to Murra Richardson Cox and Newton Cox on May 18, 1929 in Greensburg. He graduated from Burney High School in 1947 and entered into his lifelong career of farming. He was a member of Burney United Methodist Church.

"He married Frieda B. Lawson on June 16, 1950 in Greensburg. She preceded him in death on July 22, 2006. He is survived by his sons, Steve Cox of Columbus and Mike (Debbie) Cox of Hope. He was preceded in death by his wife Freida and his brother, Delmar Cox.

"Visitation services will be held at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 8 fro 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9 at the funeral home with Reverend Stanley Shaw presiding. Burial will follow at Southpark (sic) Cemetery."
