Sarah (Randol) Moore was born to Samuel Randol and Abigail (Lewis) Randol in Ashtabula County, Ohio in 1824. Sarah's parents moved to Hardin County, Ohio in 1840 where she met Benjamin B. Moore. She married Benjamin B. Moore on 17 November 1842 in Hardin County, Ohio. She was the mother of 13 children (children number 11 and 12 were twins).

Sarah and Benjamin had the following 13 children:

1. Mary Elizabeth Moore
2. George Patterson Moore
3. Alonzo Montgomery Moore
4. John Robison Moore
5. Benjamin Curtis Moore
6. Andrew Lewis Moore
7. Lewis Wertsel Moore
8. Porthena Moore
9. Abigail Caroline Moore
10. Lydia Ellen "Ella" Moore
11. Ann Marie Moore (twin)
12. Charles Deny Moore (twin)
13. Benjamin Richard Moore

Benjamin and Sarah lived in Hardin County, Ohio for a time, then moved to Fillmore, Iowa. They then moved to Missouri for a couple of years before settling in Clyde, Cloud, Kansas. Sarah's husband Benjamin died in Clyde, Cloud, Kansas. Twenty-four years after her husband's death, Sarah passed away at her daughter Abigail Caroline (Moore) Frederick's home. Her daughter Abigail had been taking care of Sarah for five weeks before her death, due to Sarah's poor health. Sarah's remains were taken to the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Cloud, Kansas to be buried next to her husband.

"Sarah Randalls was born in Ashtabula County, Ohio in 1824. She married Benjamin B. Moore in 1842 and moved to Kansas in 1870 and to the vicinity of Clyde in 1871. In 1873 Mr. Moore died, since which time she has lived in Clyde up till five weeks before her death when she went to Belleville to live with daughter [Abigail Caroline Moore Frederick]. She died January 13, 1898. She was the mother of thirteen children, eleven of whom are still living. The funeral services were held in the Christian church here Sunday the 16th and the remains were interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery three miles south of Clyde."
